What “Anbudan” means
Anbudan (அன்புடன்) is Tamil for “with love”. It is how letters home to Jaffna were signed, and it is how every batch of our snacks is made: by hand, in small quantities, the way our family has always made them.
Our Story
Traditional sweets and savouries, handmade the way our family always has.
Anbudan (அன்புடன்) is Tamil for “with love”. It is how letters home to Jaffna were signed, and it is how every batch of our snacks is made: by hand, in small quantities, the way our family has always made them.
Our recipes come from the kitchens of Northern Sri Lanka, where palmyrah palms line the roads and every celebration starts with a table of palaram. Murukku pressed by hand, laddu rolled warm, milk toffee stirred until it sets just right.
The recipes have been passed down through generations of our family. We still make everything by hand with natural ingredients and no artificial preservatives, because that is what gives Jaffna snacks their taste.
Anbudan began with family and friends asking us to make snacks for their own homes and their own celebrations. Word spread, the orders grew, and we decided to share the taste of home with everyone who misses it, or has never tried it.
We make palaram for both everyday enjoyment and the moments that matter most: weddings, baby showers, puberty ceremonies, birthdays and religious functions. Whether it is one pack with your tea or three hundred gift boxes for your guests, it is made with the same care.
